Dr. D. Spencer Pope was born in Tampa, Florida, and grew up in Salem, Oregon and Morton, Illinois. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 1991 from the University of Illinois. In 1995, he received the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Northwestern University and the International College of Dentists Award for Outstanding Achievement. Two years later, Dr. Pope earned a Masters of Science in Oral Biology and a specialty certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Northwestern University. Joining the faculty of Northwestern University as an Assistant Professor in the Graduate Department of Orthodontics, Dr. Pope served as the Director of Clinical Orthodontics, and in 1999 was recognized for his exceptional dedication to teaching. His duties included the supervision of 12 graduate doctors and over 2,000 orthodontic patients. Currently, Dr. Pope is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Marquette University Dental School's Department of Orthodontics in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he has been on the faculty since 2000. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, which is the only specialty board recognized by the American Dental Association and sponsored by the American Association of Orthodontists, and is also a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Pope has been the President of the Illinois Society of Orthodontists and the President of the South Suburban Branch of the Chicago Dental Society. He currently serves as a Director to the Midwestern Society of Orthodontists, and is a trustee to the Chicago Dental Society Foundation. Dr. Pope is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, the Academy of Dentistry International, and the Odontographic Society of Chicago. He is also active in The American Association of Orthodontists, the World Federation of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Illinois State Dental Society, serving on many committees and councils, such as Mediation and Peer Review, Communications, and Membership. Dr. Pope worked to establish the Illinois Donated Orthodontic Services program, which provides free orthodontic care to underprivileged children.

As a much sought after lecturer, Dr. Pope has appeared on the program of numerous national professional meetings, as well as locally at the Chicago Dental Society's Midwinter Meeting. He has spoken on several topics, including dentofacial orthopedics and growth modification, orthognathic surgical prediction, Invisalign, and dentofacial trauma with orthodontic/prosthodontic reconstruction. In addition Dr. Pope is a reviewer of scientific articles for orthodontic journals.

Dr. Pope, his wife Lydia, who is a registered dental hygienist, and their two sons, Ethan and Ian, reside in New Lenox. He enjoys scuba diving and is PADI certified as an Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver. In July of 2008, he climbed to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, one of the seven summits of the world, at 19,340 feet in Tanzania, Africa. His interests also include downhill skiing, bicycling and computers.



Dr. Anthony J. Maoloni was born and raised in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He graduated from Bloom High School in 1969. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Marquette University in 1973. He was conferred Doctor of Dental Surgery from Loyola University in 1977. A Two-year residency in Orthodontics followed at Loyola University where he also earned a Master of Science Degree in Oral Biology. He is a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Maoloni has practiced his specialty of Orthodontics with Orthodontics Associates, Ltd. since 1979. He is active in several professional organizations including the American Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, American Association of Orthodontists, and the Illinois Society of Orthodontists. Dr. Maoloni is a past President of the South Suburban Branch of the Chicago Dental Society. He is a Fellow of the Odontographic Society of the Institute of Medicine of Chicago and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists. He is a past President of the Arcolian Dental Arts Society. Dr. Maoloni is active in the Illinois Society of Orthodontists, serving as its President in 1996. Currently Dr. Maoloni is the acting liaison between the boards of the Chicago Dental Society and the Illinois Society of Orthodontists. Dr. Maoloni also serves as a consultant to the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at Ingalls Hospital.

His community activities include membership on the Prairie State College Foundation Board. The Foundation Board is actively involved in soliciting scholarship funds for students at Prairie State College. Dr. Maoloni is past Chair of the Special Event Committee as part of his duties with the Prairie State Foundation.

Dr. Maoloni is married to Jo and has two children, Jennifer and Carla. His hobbies include reading, antique watch collecting and repair, and twilight walks with his wife Jo, and their pet dog, Molly.
